Natural Blood Pressure Support

Blood Pressure & Your Body

Maintaining optimal blood pressure is an important part of cardiovascular health. Blood pressure that is either too high or too low can contribute to a myriad of health challenges and symptoms. If left untreated, high blood pressure (also known as hypertension) can result in organ damage to your heart, kidneys, and/or brain. High blood pressure causes arteries to gradually stiffen, decreasing the flow of blood and oxygen to your heart and other organs. This significantly increases your risk of a heart attack, and if left untreated, hypertension can ultimately result in heart failure.

Reading Blood Pressure

Blood pressure (BP) readings consist of two factors, systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure. Systolic blood pressure is the first number in a BP reading, and measures arterial pressure when your heart beats. Diastolic blood pressure is the second number in a BP reading, and measures the arterial pressure between heart beats. Ideally, blood pressure readings should be no higher than 120/80mm Hg. Blood pressure at or above 130/80mm Hg is considered high, while readings 90/60mm Hg or below qualifies as low blood pressure.

Signs of Low Blood Pressure

  • Lightheadedness

  • Dizziness

  • Feeling weak or lethargic

  • Blurred vision

  • Fainting

Signs of High Blood Pressure (Hypertension)

Scarily, sometimes there are none. High blood pressure often goes unnoticed for long periods of time if folks donโ€™t see their doctor regularly and do not check their blood pressure. This is why itโ€™s SO important to check your blood pressure regularly. For some people, very high blood pressure can causes headache, eye pain, vision problems, frequent urination.
