National Suicide Awareness Month: Raising Awareness and Offering Hope

September is National Suicide Awareness Month, a time dedicated to promoting understanding, reducing stigma, and offering resources to prevent suicide. Suicide is a leading cause of death globally, with over 700,000 lives lost each year. In the U.S. alone, approximately 48,000 people die by suicide annually, and countless others struggle with suicidal thoughts or attempts.

Awareness is key. Recognizing warning signs such as prolonged sadness, social withdrawal, extreme mood swings, or talking about feeling hopeless can be crucial in saving a life. If someone opens up about their struggles, listen without judgment, offer support, and guide them to professional help.

Prevention begins with action. Encourage loved ones to seek mental health care, reduce access to means of harm, and stay connected. Community involvement, support systems, and open conversations about mental health can all help reduce the risk of suicide.

At SageMED, we offer innovative treatments to help those battling depression and suicidal thoughts. Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is a non-invasive, FDA-approved therapy that uses magnetic pulses to stimulate brain areas responsible for mood regulation. Spravato (Esketamine) therapy, another FDA-approved treatment, works quickly to relieve severe depression symptoms by targeting specific brain receptors. Alongside these cutting-edge therapies, we also offer nutritional counseling, hormone therapy, and mental health counseling to address underlying health issues that can impact mental well-being.

If you or someone you know is struggling, reach out for help. Together, we can make a difference. Call or Text 425-679-6056 and our team will help you get started on your journey to feeling better.
